No, its normal practice to do this (although they SHOULD be checking
your renal function before every CT). Up the interval between the CTs
to a month and drink plenty of fluids afterwards.

I'm very curious about you last statement....
My insurance will only grant a PET/CT after a CT shows that a PET/CT is
needed. These are about two weeks apart. Are you saying the damage comes
from back to back CTs in the same day or in a short period of time?

You're getting hung up on radiation angst.. Forget it, rather take care
of your RENAL function, too many/frequent CTs with contrast can ruin
your kidneys! I'm serious, you wouldn't be the first person to need
dialysis because of intravenous CT contrast.. The combinations I see
