What did John Waters mean when he said the following about Anita Bryant's anti - gay campaign in 1977 ?
"Squeaky Fromme, where are you when we need you ?"
I know who Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme is. She is one of the very few Manson family members who still supports him in 2007. She never has been labeled as lesbian. Nobody has accused Squeaky of homophobia. So what does she have to do with Anita Bryant's campaign of 1977 ? Without an explanation, I won't buy a ticket for Mr. Waters' "Hairspray" musical.

He may have been referring to her attempt to assassinate President Gerald Ford RC

What does that have to do with Anita Bryant's campaign against gays ? Fromme isn't gay, and neither is Ford.

Waters wants Squeaky should take a coupla pot shots at Anita Bryant, too.

But John Waters knew that Squeaky's gun had no rounds in its chamber. Maybe Mr. Waters wants Anita Bryant to join the Manson Family. That makes no sense.

You're the one who's not making sense. First of all, how did you get from Waters & Bryant to the Manson Family? Second, you realize that, with a trivial flick of the wrist, there *will* be rounds in the chamber. You seem to be suffering from some extremely disorganized thinking, here.
Waters wanted Squeaky to wave her little pee-pee shooter at Anita Bryant. What's so hard to understand about that, Sipowitz?

Jeez, being a little literal aren't you? Squeaky was a member of the Manson family and is in jail for attempted assinatation. Isn't that enough to use her name as a synonym for murder even if she didn't actually murder anyone?

Too late. With this post the thread clocks in as having NINE posts written by SIX different authors !
Nobody believes a subject line that provokes no replies. The more replies, the more the subject line is believed. So people are going to believe that John Waters makes no sense. Oh, and there are other examples of him not making sense besides his Squeaky Fromme comment. Like using "Hairspray" to make millions of white people dumb down the civil rights movement of the early 1960s.
In truth, blacks and sympathetic whites died or sustained brain injuries in order to integrate grocery stores and restaurants. Malcolm X was shot in the head. But John Waters is making people think it all revolved around a group of silly teen - agers in Baltimore who only cared about a TV dance show and an amusement park. Oh, and Mr. Waters dumbs down the Patty Hearst ordeal, too. And he is wrong about everyone in show business being gay.
Fuck John Waters ! He will dumb down your entire brain if you let him. Even if you don't reply to this, you can't erase this thread that contains nine posts and six different authors. They prove that Mr. Waters doesn't make sense.

Are you sure? His thinking is so disorganized that I suspect he may be schizotypal, at minimum. That makes the discussion much more interesting than even a spirited debate.

I would surmize that Waters' wisecrack meant that Ms. Fromme's occasional attempts at homicide would have actually served the public if Ms. Fromme had targeted Anita Bryant instead of her intended victim.

Someone obviously didn't, but besides, I posted it mostly to phrase the obvious in a somewhat witty manner, far more witty than your stupid one-liner.

It wasn't meant as a one-liner, it was a finger pointing at the obvious, and I've never tried to be "witty" in my life.
It was a grunt at you, for being so dopey. Why ARE you on this dopey routine, anyway?

You obviously have never tried to be witty as you are a boor, and what you posted *was* a one-liner, literally if nothing else.

If you must grunt, why don't you simply refrain from grunting except when lifting weights at a gym? Also, I wasn't being "dopey" but rather I simply answered a question.
How old are you, anyway? 80? Nobody has used that pompous word since the '30's.
A boor.
HAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
Actually, I thought you were Smith. Whoever you are is of no interest to me, but Smith is. He's been on some kind of bizarre tangent lately that's fascinating me. Now fuck off and go pick your ass. You old boooooor. hehh

Yep, a boor and a pretty ignorant one as well as you are too stupid to even know that the word is still in use today. See <http://www.commondreams.org/views06/1205-20.htm> for one example of contemporary usage.

Either you are troll or completely uninformed about John Waters...
You're like the soccer mom who goes to the video rental place to pick out another JW film to watch after you and your kids watched _Hair Spray_ and thought it was a great family comedy -- except you pick out his film _Female Trouble_...
For his explanation of everything in his mind read his first book _Shock Value_, after that you'll "get" what he's saying...

It so happens I have done a lot of research on him because he is the best - known filmmaker based in Baltimore, which is near CIA headquarters.
People interested in CIA conspiracies know me, Lisa Pease. Ever hear of my web site, which is anti - CIA and pro - Kennedy Family ? Here it is.
Hey, "Gregory Morrow," you are my old nemesis David Herschel in disguise. I must say something to the people. Don't believe this guy. He is an anti - conspiracy troll.
Message to David: No one knows you. People know me. On Amazon.com you can find the book authored by Jim DiEugenio and ME, Lisa Pease.
That's right, David, you don't have a book out. I do. David, get a life of your own !!!! Multiple exclamation points replace the yelling and screaming I used to do at UC Berkeley and UW Madison during the Vietnam War. My vocal chords may have aged, but my mind hasn't. I use multiple exclamation points at the right time. David, get a life of your own !!!!!!!
"Gregory Morrow" is an alias. Instead of notifying the Internet Police Department, which won't help a conspiracy theorist like me, I am notifying the Berkeley Citizens' Arrest Council. It saved the world from destruction during the People's Park tragedy in 1969.

But Anita Bryant, even in her heydey, was so far away from the White House that she would NOT be an appealing target for the power - hungry Squeaky Fromme.
Therefore, John Waters made no sense in 1977. If he wanted to provoke a psychopath to kill Ms. Bryant, he should have beckoned to Son of Sam, who was hot at the time.
You mean you can't believe what a fool you made of yourself given that the word in question, which you stupidly claimed has not been used since the 1930s, appeared in the title of an article written and published in 2006, which in turn talked about the recent use of the word by a nationally syndicated columnist.

Naturally it wouldn't occur to you that you're a complete crackpot.
But that's good. Real crackpots are fun, so keep posting. It's horridly fucking boring around here.
